About Sound AviationIn 1983, Sound Aviation was founded as a solution to a number of pressing questions in the aerospace industry. One of the most common and important questions was "Who can we go to for hard-to-find parts?"
|
With a combined 20 years in the aerospace industry and a fascination in the trade, Ed and Joy Blom realized there was a tremendous need to support older military and commercial aircraft such as C-130, P-3, A-4, and UH-1. In an effort to provide that much needed support, they founded Sound Aviation Corporation.
In order to stay up to date in the business as the aerospace industry evolved, so did Sound Aviation. From TWX machines, TELEX and typewriters to the modern and more efficient technology of today’s age, we have advanced and expanded in many ways to support a much larger customer base and a wider array of aircraft.
After more than 35 years in the industry, Sound Aviation remains true to the original goals established by the owners. These goals will continue to lead us for many years to come.
Our abilities cross over into both commercial as well as military, with a specialty being hard to find, obsolete, and replacement parts. With a number of the best search engines available in the field, coupled with some of the best brains in the business, Sound Aviation has developed an intimate relationship between the people and the parts, between the parts and the planes, and everything in between.
Our reach is far felt. In addition to supporting The United States, Canada, and South America, Sound Aviation also supports various commercial customers and military organizations throughout Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific regions. We support repair stations in Germany, France, Portugal, Italy, Spain, and the U.K. that support major airlines as well as NATO/NAMSA and the Royal Air Force (UK). We have been acknowledged as a “TOP 65” supplier to Airbus out of over 15,000 suppliers worldwide. Our Middle Eastern customers support both airlines and cargo aircraft, some of whom specialize in emergency service aircraft and helicopters. One of our biggest regions of all is Asia-Pacific with over 20 years of experience as a major supplier and supporter of both Japanese Military and Commercial aircraft, helicopters, and ground support.
